I regularly read these forums, to understand the state of the game and the general customer opinion.
I have noticed, what I consider, to be a disturbing trend. The lack of correspondence from FUNCOM. There is a plethora of posts from the customer base basically asking the same questions, what is the direction your taking the game, and what are your plans for class X.
I play a ranger, who\’s class base is very vocal about it\’s current state. But i really have no clue what FUNCOM is doing with this class, why they make changes to the class and what we are supposed to be as a class. This seems to be a common theme across all class forums.
In other MMO\’s I have played, there was usually, at the very least, an acceptable level of correspondance from a company representative. But here there is next to none from FUNCOM. Coming from a service industry, I know the importance of communicating with the customer, even if you are going to piss them off, communicating this fact, and following up on a regular basis will keep the customer complacent.
An anology I learned of this fact. If a doctor is going to give you a needle, if she explains the requirement for the needle and prepares you for it, you\’ll buck up and take the needle, even if it hurts like heck. If on the other hand, the doctor sneaks up on you and sticks a needle in your arm without warning, you might punch the doctor in the face, and most definitely would not see that doctor again.
FUNCOM, just talk to us, your customer communication is severely lacking.
